General

Before each rental, our vehicles undergo a thorough cleaning and disinfection process, paying close attention to high-touch areas such as steering wheels, door handles, and seat belts. We use only high-grade cleaning and sanitizing products that have been proven to be effective against germs and viruses. 

If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you are required to have a valid driver’s license issued by your state of residence.

If you are a foreign national visiting the United States, you must provide a valid passport from your country of origin and a valid driver’s license from your country of origin. We accept international driver’s licenses to satisfy our license requirement.

It is important to note that the requirements for driving in the United States may vary from state to state, and we encourage all our guests to familiarize themselves with the specific laws and regulations in the state where they will be driving.

International drivers are allowed to rent from our fleet. International drivers must provide us with a valid passport and driver’s license from their country. Additional fees may apply.

RICE MOTORS currently operates in the Central Florida region. We are located in Downtown Orlando, Florida. We are looking to expand in the future.

Our vehicles are operable in the State of Florida. For operation outside of state limits, please ask our team during your reservation process. There is no extra charge for operation outside of state limits.

We offer convenient delivery to a number of preset destinations listed below and custom destinations up to 50 miles from our location. Pricing includes delivery and pickup. Our team will pickup the vehicle from the same location your vehicle was delivered.

Please note that all of our vehicles are equipped with advanced vehicle tracking systems. Guests are free to drive the vehicle as pleased. We do not actively track the vehicle or micromanage our guests. While we are not legally obligated to disclose this, we would like to do so out of respect to our guests. Our primary concerns are auto theft, excessive speeding, and insurance purposes.

We also like to keep portable Tile trackers with the key fobs only to prevent loss of keys. Our luxury vehicles are not serviceable by “emergency” locksmiths. Only flagship dealerships can program additional keys for our vehicles in the event that a key fob is lost. Replacement key fobs for for most luxury vehicles costs us $800 and takes at least 3-5 business days. The Tile tracker is solely used for this purpose.

Payment

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.  We also do accept cashier’s checks, cash, and wire transfer in some cases but a credit card must be on file for the vehicle deposit and damage deposit.

We do not provide any refunds, returns or exchanges of any kind for any reason. Our goal is to provide you with world class service. If you have an issue of any kind during your rental please let us know so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Our damage and security deposits range from $500 to $10,000 depending on the class of vehicle. Deposits will be used to cover any excess mileage, damage to vehicle, gas, tolls, smoking, tickets, loss of use or any other costs incurred from the rental as agreed in the rental agreement.

All reservations are subject to Florida state tax of 6% and Orlando city tax of 0.5% for a total of 6.5%.

All our vehicles include our pre-activated toll transponder valid in 19 states. You will be charged for all tolls incurred during your rental period.

Reservation

Each vehicle comes with their own set of miles. Unlimited miles can be purchased as an add-on for each reservation.

Driving on a race track is NOT allowed under any circumstances. 

Guests can request to add additional drivers for an additional cost. The primary guest must be the one to pick up and return the vehicle.

Insurance

To satisfy our insurance requirements, you must select at least one of the following coverage options:

  1. Provide proof of full coverage auto insurance with appropriate policy limits transferable to the rental vehicle for the duration of the rental period
    • For Standard and Premium classes:
      • Bodily Injury: $10,000 (State Minimum)
      • Property Damage: $10,000 (State Minimum)
      • Comprehensive: $1,000 deductible max
      • Collision: $1,000 deductible max
      • The policy must provide coverage exceeding the ACV (actual cash value) of the vehicle being rented.
    • For Elite class:
      • Bodily Injury: $10,000 (State Minimum)
      • Property Damage: $10,000 (State Minimum)
      • Comprehensive: $1,000 deductible max
      • Collision: $1,000 deductible max
      • The policy must provide coverage exceeding the ACV (actual cash value) of the vehicle being rented.
    • For Exotic class:
      • Bodily Injury: $100,000/$300,000
      • Property Damage: $50,000
      • Comprehensive: $1,000 deductible max
      • Collision: $1,000 deductible max
      • The policy must provide coverage exceeding the ACV (actual cash value) of the vehicle being rented.
  2. Purchase our collision damage waiver (CDW) (only available for select vehicles)
    • Available for all Standard and Premium class vehicles
    • Not available for certain Elite class vehicles
    • Not available for all Exotic class vehicles

*Please note: Not all vehicles, vehicle classes, and/or drivers are eligible for our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) option.

You are not required to bring your own insurance if you purchase our Collision Damage Waiver to cover the vehicle during your rental period. Otherwise, you are required to provide your own insurance with appropriate policy limits.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is a coverage option available to our customers that protects them from financial responsibility in case of any damages caused to the rental vehicle while they are using it. It covers the cost of repairs or replacements up to the full value of the car, although there may be a deductible that needs to be paid by the customer. CDW does not cover any personal belongings left in the car, any damages caused by reckless driving, intentional damage, or any damages caused by the customers own negligence.

We offer SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance) as additional liability insurance.

*Please note: As the name states ‘Supplemental liability insurance’ it is strictly meant as a supplement to your main insurance coverage.

Pets are allowed if the pet fee is paid. Due to extra cleaning, this is required.

Service animals are allowed without any additional fees or surcharges. Proof of service animal registration from eligible institution is required.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact us at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental period in order to receive a full refund. If cancellation is made within 24 hours of the start of your rental period, you will be charged a fee of up to 50% of your total rental cost. In the event of a noshow, you will be charged the full rental cost, including all applicable taxes and fees. If you need to extend your rental period, please contact us at least 24 hours before the end of your original rental period in order to avoid additional fees.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we appreciate your understanding with respect to our cancellation policy.

For vehicle rentals, our Cancellation Policy is the only avenue for refunds. We do not offer refunds for any items purchased including, but not limited to, merchandise, apparel, accessories, and/or gift cards.

Incidents

We recommend taking the following steps should you get involved in an accident:

  1. Remain calm and make sure everyone involved is safe. Do not admit fault or no fault.
  2. Call the police to report the accident.
  3. Exchange contact and insurance information with the other driver(s).
  4. Take pictures and videos of the scene of the accident, if possible.
  5. Contact your insurance provider to begin the claims process.
  6. Contact us and inform us of the accident.
  7. Follow the instructions of the police, RICE MOTORS, and insurance provider.

Yes, we do offer 24/7 roadside protection for our customers. Our roadside protection service includes towing, tire changes, jump starts, fluid delivery, and lockout services. We want to make sure our customers are taken care of in the event of any emergency. We offer 24/7 roadside protection as an additional service at low cost. To ensure you receive our roadside protection, make sure to include it during your booking process.

If you have an auto insurance policy, 24/7 roadside assistance may be included in your coverage. Contact your insurance provider directly for more information.

Alternatively, you may opt for third party companies providing emergency roadside services like AAA and Sam’s Club. You can also contact local businesses offering towing and emergency roadside services. 

If the customer is issued a traffic ticket while driving our vehicle, they are responsible for the ticket. This includes, but is not limited to, traffic and parking violations such as speeding tickets, reckless driving citations, and/or parking tickets.

The ticket’s legal and financial responsibility will be legally transferred over to the primary vehicle operator listed in the rental agreement. Therefore, they are responsible for any fines or penalties associated with the ticket. 

It is important for customers to remember that they are responsible for any traffic tickets they may receive while operating our vehicles. It is also important to note that they should drive responsibly and follow all applicable laws while operating the rental vehicle. We do not accept any liability from traffic violations and tickets. We hope that this information helps our clients make the right decisions while driving our vehicles and that they can enjoy the experience without worry.

We take great lengths on servicing and maintain our fleet. Our vehicles are regularly and meticulously maintained. Our fleet is guaranteed issue-free. Should you experience any vehicle malfunctions or mechanical issues, please contact us immediately. Our team will handle all vehicle and reservation arrangements. This includes providing you with an alternate vehicle for the remainder of your booking.

We will thoroughly investigate any reported vehicle malfunctions or mechanical issues. As long as the issue is not caused by the customer, all arrangements will be free of charge. However, if the customer is found to be responsible for the vehicle malfunction or mechanical issue, the remainder of the reservation will be cancelled without refund and they will be held liable for any damages.

Customers are not authorized to repair our vehicles or provide our vehicles to any shop for repair without our express written consent. Please refrain attempting any repairs on your own.

Customers are responsible for the vehicle during their rental period. You may be responsible for the cost to repair or replace a flat tire. If a flat tire is due to deterioration, age, rot, or pre-existing condition, we are responsible for the damage costs.

If your vehicle gets a flat tire during your rental period, please follow the following steps:

  1. Pull over to safe area if you haven’t already.
  2. Locate the affected tire(s) and determine if the vehicle is equipped with run-flat tires. Search online or lookup the tire brand and model to check for run-flat technology.
  3. Contact us immediately after completing above steps.
  4. Follow the appropriate next steps:
    • Vehicles equipped with run-flat tires: you may continue to drive up to 50 miles at a maximum speed of 50 mph without replacing the tire.
    • Vehicles without run-flat tires: the affected tire(s) must not be driven on and must be replaced with a spare tire. You are authorized to replace the affected tire(s) with the spare tire if you know how to safely do so.
    • 24/7 Emergency roadside services are available for assistance. Please refer here for more information on roadside assistance.
Determining Liability

We will thoroughly investigate the cause of the flat tire and review pre-trip photos from your reservation as well as post-trip photos from the most recent reservation to understand the health and history of the tire. If we determine you’re responsible, you must cover the cost to repair or replace the affected tire(s). If we determine you weren’t responsible for the flat, we will cover the cost to repair or replace the affected tire(s).

Repairing or Replacing Affected Tire(s)

If the tire is repairable, it must be repaired by one of our authorized vendors. If there’s sidewall damage or the tire isn’t repairable, affected tire(s) must be replaced with one of equal or greater quality. Replacements must be approved by us before moving forward with the work. Proof of receipt showing tire quality and total cost must be provided and will be verified. If you are liable, you must pay for the cost of the tire at full price, regardless of tire use before the incident. You’re not responsible for replacing any of the non-damaged tires. We have existing warranties with our tire vendor DiscountTire on some of our vehicles. In this case, the cost of warranty tire replacement is $50 plus applicable taxes and fees and the tire will be replaced with equal or greater quality tire by DiscountTire.

If you are liable and you are unable to coordinate replacing or repairing the tire, the coverage option you chose would be in effect for a damage claim.
